Black bikinis are a classic favorite for many reasons. They’re super classy, they never go out of style, they won’t show a trace of that sangria you spilled throughout your vacations, and they are an amazing color to attract the sun for a better tan. When it comes to summer wardrobe staples, a black swimsuit is a must-have beachwear.

A one or two-piece suit in classic black, like a white t-shirt, flat sandal, or day dress, is timeless in style, always a solid investment, and a sensible aesthetic choice.

Why should I buy a black bikini?

Selecting dark colors, especially black and navy blue, offer a slimming effect and are ideal for hiding a few pounds. When it comes to swimwear, black swimming suits are essential. Look for fashion-forward silhouettes and styles to spice things up. Black bikinis are a fashion statement, they are classy and timeless.

Our black bathing swimsuits for women are made from the finest materials and are fade-resistant, making them the ideal choice for this summer and the next. Many of our clients return for a new bikini bottom or swimsuit top to match with bits of an older swimsuit. Our swimsuits are not only stylish and well made, but they are also built to last for years of summers and holidays.

Are hot tubs bad for a black swimsuit?

Yes! Wearing your fancier bikinis in a hot tub is not a good idea. Hot water and chlorine can cause colors to run, fibers to degrade, and your suit to sag. When learning how to hand-wash swimsuits, it's critical to avoid using hot water and to limit your time in the hot tub.

Of course, we all enjoy a relaxing soak in a hot tub now and then. So I have a few inexpensive bathing suits that I save for the hot tubs. They won't last long, but neither my heart nor my bank account will be broken!

Can you pretreat your bathing suits?

Colors fade and lose their brightness when exposed to chlorine and sunlight. To make sure you avoid this, you should pretreat your suit before first wearing it. Here are some guidelines.

  1. Combine two tablespoons of white vinegar with one quart of cold water;
  2. Soak your swimsuit for 20 to 30 minutes in this solution;
  3. Rinse with clean, cold water;

Why? The cold water will aid in the penetration of the vinegar into the cloth, locking the color in the fibers. After soaking, rinsing your swimsuits with clean, cold water will remove the vinegar scent. When you wash a swimsuit in vinegar, you avoid the time-consuming job of scrubbing off endless suds while still preserving the color of the suit.

Don’t forget that the quality of fabric is extremely important. You should ensure to choose a bikini that is made out of good quality fabric to put all chances on your side and keep your bikini in good shape.

What is the best way to wash your  black swimsuits?

It's important to follow good practices when cleaning your swimsuit. However, in addition to appropriate washing, there are other maintenance suggestions that will help your suit last season after season. Whether you're wondering how to hand-wash swimsuits or if they can simply be thrown in the laundry, here is all the information you'll need to keep your bathing suits in good shape for years to come.

Before you wash your suit, untie all of the straps. A suit will recover to its appropriate size and shape if washed in its original shape.

When you get home or to your hotel room, wash your swimsuit right away. Add half a teaspoon of mild, color-safe, or swimsuit detergent to a sink basin of cold water. As a replacement, some of our clients have told us that they use a teaspoon of baby shampoo or gentle hand soap. Keep in mind that you won't need much, so keep it simple.

Rub the fabric gently in the water, being careful not to stretch it.

What are the common mistakes people make when  shopping for new swimsuits?

  • Not buying the right swimsuits for the type of activities they are doing;
  • Not choosing a top with enough supports;
  • People tend to forget one-pieces are a valuable and trendy option;
  • Buying bikini bottoms that are too big;
  • People tend to buy the same style of bikinis;
  • Worrying too much about tan lines;
  • Buying a bikini in one size sets;
  • Wearing the same bikini over and over;
  • Thinking bikinis are not made for them;

What are the few things you should do to take care of your swimsuits in the long run?

  • Pretreat your swimsuits;
  • Wash your swimwear after every use;
  • Always rinse your swimsuits;
  • Leave your suit to hang or lay flat to dry;
  • Rotate your swimsuits;
  • Don’t put your bathing suit in the washing machine;
  • Store your bathing suits properly;
