Meet Margarita Howis
'Meet the Artist'

Margarita Howis is an international contemporary artist working between the United States and Europe, recognized for expressive portraiture and multidisciplinary collaborations that merge fine art, fashion, and immersive experiences. Originally trained as an architect, her work explores identity, human emotion, femininity, transformation, and the layered complexity of modern selfhood through figurative painting, abstraction, texture, and movement.

Her work has been presented internationally through galleries and projects in New York, Miami, Copenhagen, and Paris, as well as through fashion collaborations, cultural institutions, and live art activations. Her projects span Miami Swim Week, Art Basel Week, Valentino Beauty at Macy’s Herald Square, educational programming at Columbia University, and international initiatives connected to organizations including the United Nations, CPR Foundation, and Wild Tomorrow. Working across both canvas and wearable art, Margarita creates immersive visual worlds that blur the boundaries between contemporary art, fashion, and storytelling.
For EDEN METAMORPHOSIS, Margarita collaborated with Bikini Beach as the visual artist behind the collection’s original painted works, developing exclusive artwork, adapting selected paintings into prints, and directly hand-painting runway garments presented during Espacio Vogue Miami: Runway Edition at Miami Swim Week. The collaboration transformed swimwear into wearable contemporary art, blending mythology, movement, emotion, and transformation into a unified visual narrative.
Her practice continues to evolve across contemporary art, fashion, and cultural collaborations, creating spaces where visual expression, craftsmanship, and emotional narrative intersect.
